Collaboration between my typography students at the School of Visual Arts and poet Ian E. Manuel.

Collaboration with Playwright Marc Palmieri. Marc introduced my students to four of his scripts, Based on as their personal interpretation of the content, students designed full books (cover and interior) directing the reader as if they were directing the play in the theater. Every student gave their versions of the printed and bound books to the author
as a gift.

Collaboration with poet Alexander Norelli. Students designed books of his poetry and gave them to the poet as a gift. Also Alexander introduced to them the theory of iambic pentameter in Shakesperean Sonnets, students listened to the performances of different actors reading the sonnets, and visualized the rhythm of the Sonnets.

Collaboration between School of Visual Arts and poet Anthony Alessandrini. Students designed books of his poetry and gave them to the poet as a gift. Many years of with Anthony on numerous plays resulted in a collection of fabulous theatre posters.

Collaboration between School of Visual Arts and poet Michelle Valladares. Students designed books of her poetry and gave them to the poet as a gift. Also Michelle introduced them to the process of writing poetry. We worked on the theatre posters for Shakespeare’s plays. 2014.
